Baltic Beach Hotel received the Green Key certification

30/05/2014

Foundation for Environmental Education awarded Baltic Beach Hotel with the Green key certificate, which is the highest rate in the tourism industry for environment preservation.

This international certificate is issued to those hospitality companies that have proven their willingness to reduce negative impact of tourism on the environment. In order to gain Green Key certification, Baltic Beach Hotel has verified its compliance with more than 70 criteria in twelve groups, including infrastructure, management and communication fields. All criteria are measurable and verifiable, like the number of liters of water that flows in a minute in the shower or energy consumption in the mini bar.

Green Key is a non-governmental, non-profit program supported by the World Tourism Organization and the United Nations Environment Program. In total, this certificate is received by 2100 companies from 45 countries.
